"The Roadhouse Joe's Blues Band was once again a huge crowd pleaser! Every time they come to town they bring a new dimension to their performance that puts them over the top! It's no surprise they were contenders for the International Blues Challenge! We love what they do, and hope they keep doing it!"
Courtney Howey - Committee Chair Smokin' Brew BBQ Festival 2010 Parker, Colorado Rick Davis plays a unique style of blues harp that pays homage to the great Chicago players, such as Big Walter Horton, James Cotton, and Paul Butterfield. Rick has been playing harp for more than three decades, and played his first professional gig in 1976. He is a veteran of bands such as The Davis Blues Project, the powerhouse classic rock band The Ritz, Loose Change, and Dirty Jacks band among many others. Rick has shared stages with James Cotton, Muddy Waters, Filmore Slim, Jimmy Pailer, and Rusty Sterling, among many others. Rick plays Hohner Marine Band harps through a bullet mic into a custom 5F2H harp amp designed by Bruce Collins of Mission Amps. This gives his harp that fat, smoky overdriven tone, and gives Roadhouse Joe its nasty blues edge. Other amps include a 1953 Masco ME-18 and the baddest little silverface Fender Champ on the planet. www.davisbluesproject.com Charlie B., originally from New Jersey, was heavily influenced by the blues of the British Invasion such as Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton, then later by the Southern Rock bands such as The Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Like so many others, this brought him full circle back to the original pioneers of the American Blues. Charlie has recently returned to the Denver area after traveling in the US and Europe. While traveling, he had the opportunity to play with many different people and was overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of audiences he met. His powerful guitar tones and warm soulful singing helped open doors and bridge the gap between different languages and cultures. Since moving to Colorado, Charlie has been a member of several bands, as well as a side man for many local artists. His upbeat personality and tasteful playing is helping to establish him as one of the areas top players. Geno Sirokman
